Back in 2014 a video went viral all over the internet of a crazy 2 stroke V8, which can be seen below. This video had millions of views and left people wondering what it was and how it was built. Little information was put out there. Turns out this engine is actually a 4.0 liter GT from Evinrude. They boasted 300hp stock and responded very well to mods.

So now lets fast forward a year. A company in Vasteras, Sweden, by the name of VM Performance finally decided to do something with this crazy contraption. Weighing in at only 555Lbs it’s no wonder VM Performance decided to throw it in a drag car. A Volvo drag car to be exact. A video of this car going down the strip has still yet to be seen. As soon as it does, we will make sure and do a full write up on it. If you are thinking about getting a hold of one of these engines for your project, good luck, Evinrude stopped production of these oil burning beasts in 1995, primarily due to fuel injection hitting the market on a large scale. Once Mercury realized that the same horsepower numbers could be had from a fuel injected V6, Evinrude pulled the plug. Let us know what you think about this beast in the comments section below!
